How To Use

Import a Chord-Pro style chord sheet and this studio turns it into a synced chord-lyric timeline you can practise along to. Chord shapes are drawn as real guitar fingering diagrams, and the whole song can be transposed into a key that suits your voice.

  1. 1

    Load your chord sheet

Upload a Chord-Pro style .txt file, or bring back a project you saved earlier with Import JSON. Metadata tags such as Key=, Play=, Capo= and BPM= are read straight from the file.

  2. 2

    Set tempo and time signature

Drag the BPM slider to match the recording, then choose 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 or 6/8 from the Time selector. Every bar on the timeline is retimed as soon as either value changes.

  3. 3

    Check the song metadata

If your file carried Key=, Play= and Capo= tags they appear in the Song Config strip, so you can see the original key, the key you are playing in and the capo position at a glance.

  4. 4

    Transpose into your key

Click a key button and every chord in the song shifts at once. The timeline, the live monitor and the guitar fingering diagrams all follow the new key.

  5. 5

    Edit the timeline

Toggle Edit Timeline and type straight over any chord or lyric line inside the bar cards. Click any card outside edit mode to jump to that bar and start playing from there.

  6. 6

Practise along and save your work

Press Start Practice and follow the live monitor, which highlights the current bar and shows the fingering you need. Export JSON saves the edited timeline as a project file you can import again later.

Frequently Asked Questions

What format does this tool support?

Plain-text Chord-Pro style chord sheets with metadata tags such as Key=, Play= and Capo=. Guitar Pro .gp and .gpx files are not supported yet โ€” an importer is planned for a future release.

What's the difference between Original Key and Play key?

Original Key is the pitch of the original recording. Play key is the set of chord shapes your fingers actually press on the guitar. Adjusting the capo lets you reach the target pitch without changing the fingering you already know.

Can I slow down playback for practice?

Yes. Lower the BPM slider and every bar is retimed, so you can work through a difficult passage at any tempo you like before bringing it back up to speed.

Can I save my edited timeline?

You can edit the timeline freely within your browser session, and Export JSON saves it as a project file you can import again later. If you close or refresh the page without exporting, those edits are lost.

Will my chord text be sent to backend servers?

No. All parsing and timeline rendering run locally inside your browser, so your chord and lyric data is never uploaded to our servers.

Does it work on mobile phones?

Basic playback works in mobile browsers. Editing the timeline is easier on a desktop screen, where the bar cards and the fingering diagram both have more room.
