How to Edit Audio in Your Browser

Trim, cut, fade, reverse and export audio without installing anything. Everything runs locally in your browser — your file is never uploaded. Drag across the waveform to select a region, pick an action from the toolbar, and download the result as a WAV file when you are done.

  1. 1

    Load your audio file

Click Open and choose an MP3, WAV, FLAC or M4A file, or drop it straight onto the editor. The file is decoded locally in your browser, so it never leaves your device.

  2. 2

Select the region you want to edit

Drag across the waveform to highlight a range. The selected area is drawn in a brighter teal, and the status bar shows the exact start and end times plus the selection length in seconds.

  3. 3

    Apply an edit

Use the toolbar to Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Trim, Fade In, Fade Out, Reverse or Repeat. Every action is instant, and the red playhead shows your current playback position — click anywhere on the waveform to jump there.

  4. 4

    Audition the result

Press the play button to hear the edited audio. Toggle loop to repeat the selection, and drag the volume slider to level-match while you compare before and after.

  5. 5

    Undo or redo if needed

Every edit is added to an undo stack, so you can step backwards and forwards with the Undo and Redo buttons. Up to 30 steps are kept per session.

  6. 6

    Export your edit

Click Export to download the result as a lossless 16-bit WAV file, ready to drop into any DAW, video editor or streaming workflow.

Audio Editor & Trimmer Frequently Asked Questions

Are my audio files uploaded to a server?

No. Decoding, editing and exporting all run locally in your browser using the Web Audio API. Your audio never leaves your device, and closing the tab clears everything.

Which audio formats can I open?

MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A and most other formats your browser can decode are supported. The export is always a 16-bit uncompressed WAV file, so you can drop it into any DAW without quality loss.

What does Trim do, and how is it different from Delete?

Delete removes the selected region and joins the two remaining parts together, shortening the file. Trim does the opposite: it discards everything outside the selection and keeps only the part you highlighted.

Can I edit just one channel of a stereo file?

Every edit currently applies to both channels at once. Per-channel editing is planned for a future release.

How many undo steps are available?

The editor keeps up to 30 undo steps per session. Once the stack is full, the oldest step is discarded each time you make a new edit.

Can I use this on mobile?

Yes. The editor works in mobile browsers, though precise waveform selection is easier with a mouse or trackpad on a larger screen.
