Virtual Piano Frequently Asked Questions
How many keys does it have?
Roughly five octaves, from B2 to B7. It is not a full 88-key piano, but it covers the range most melodies and vocal lines sit in.
Can I play chords?
You can play one note at a time. Holding several keys together is not supported, so use it for single-line work.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The keyboard scrolls horizontally, so every note is reachable on a small screen.
Why does it sound synthetic?
The tone is generated in your browser with a simple oscillator rather than from a sampled piano. It is accurate in pitch — which is the point of the tool — but it will not sound like a concert grand.
