Getting Started

Do I need an account to use Sonicaura Studio?+
You can browse and try the browser-based tools without an account. To use the AI tools (stem separation, denoise, reverb) and to save your history, you need to sign in. New accounts get 2 free credits.
Which file formats are supported?+
MP3, WAV, FLAC and M4A for audio; MP4 for video. Maximum file size is 500 MB, and the maximum duration per task is 8 minutes.
Do my files leave my device?+
It depends on the tool. Format conversion, metronome, virtual piano, chord practice and pitch detection run entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API — nothing is uploaded. AI tools (stem separation, AI denoise, AI reverb) upload your file to our private storage for processing, then delete it automatically after 24 hours.

Credits & Pricing

How do credits work?+
One credit is consumed per AI task, regardless of file length or stem count. Browser-based tools are free and do not consume credits.
Do credits expire?+
No. Credits stay in your account until you use them.
What happens if a task fails?+
If processing fails on our side, the credit is automatically refunded to your account. If you do not see the refund within a few minutes, contact us.

Stem Separation

How many stems can I split a song into?+
You can choose between 2 and 6 stems. The most common options are 2 stems (vocals + instrumental) and 6 stems (vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, and other).
Does it support chord detection?+
Yes. After separation, you can open the guitar or piano stem in the practice console and get automatic chord detection with fingerings.
Can I export the individual stems?+
Yes. Each stem can be downloaded separately as MP3 or WAV after processing.

Denoise & Reverb

What is the difference between Web Denoise and AI Denoise?+
Web Denoise runs in your browser with a real-time noise gate, compressor and EQ — you can tune every parameter yourself. AI Denoise runs on our servers with a deep-learning model that handles complex, non-stationary noise (crowds, keyboards, streets) in one click. Web is free and manual; AI is paid and automatic.
Which reverb presets are available?+
Five: Vocal Booth, Studio Room, Bathroom / Shower, Concert Hall, and Church / Cathedral. You can A/B compare dry vs. processed audio before downloading.
Can I preview before spending a credit?+
Yes. Both the denoise and reverb tools include a real-time A/B comparison and frequency spectrum, so you can hear and see the difference before committing.

MCP & AI Assistants

What is MCP?+
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude Desktop and Cursor call external tools on your behalf. All three AI tools on Sonicaura Studio are exposed through MCP.
How do I set up MCP?+
Add the MCP server URL and your API key in your AI client. Setup takes a few minutes and is documented step-by-step for Claude Desktop and Cursor.
Do MCP calls use the same credits?+
Yes. MCP calls use the same credit balance as the web interface — one credit per task, no separate pricing.

Troubleshooting

My file upload failed. What should I check?+
Confirm the file is under 500 MB, is one of the supported formats (MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, MP4), and is under 8 minutes long. If it still fails, try a different browser or a wired connection.
Processing is taking a long time.+
Longer files and 6-stem separations take more time. If a task runs for more than 10 minutes without progress, refresh the page — completed results are saved to your history.
Where can I find my past results?+
Sign in and open the tool you used — your history appears at the bottom of the page. Note that processed audio files are automatically deleted after 24 hours, so download promptly.

Using Sonicaura from Claude or Cursor

All three AI tools are callable through MCP. Add the server URL and your API key once, then ask your assistant in plain language to split a song, remove noise, or add reverb — it runs the task and returns a signed download link.
